From the Editor: Education Policy and Critical Educators (En.) [Editörden: Eğitim Politikası ve Eleştirel Eğitimciler (Tr)]

Abstract

I am happy to meet you with a new issue of IJEP. I am indebted to many colleagues and students who contributed to the realization of this issue. Without their contributions to this issue, like the others, it would not have reached you.  As you know, there are many titles compatible with critical pedagogy within the scope and approach of our journal's publication topics. Critical Pedagogy or the field of critical education has not been able to lead to a dominant critical perspective in the establishment of a formal education systems worldwide and in the field of education policy until recently. On the contrary, it has been considered normal for the discourses and theories of critical education to be ignored and excluded in formal educational institutions. However, the encounters and struggles that have continued until today, the nature of the problems we face and the great efforts of critical educators have left this invisibility behind. It is possible to see a teacher in any town school in the world or a professor in the classroom of a university that is at the top of the international higher education quality rankings trying to continue his lesson with a critical education perspective. It is also natural for these educators to have the will to be more visible, to show more solidarity and to work harder. Critical educators are not educators from different cultures and nations who compete or act hostile towards each other, but on the contrary, they are symbols of solidarity and goodness, and in addition to continuing their own efforts for liberation and humanization in the restrictive capitalist neoliberal era we are in, they are conscious subjects who struggle for equality and justice for the good of their students and the society they are in. As in  other issues of our journal, it will be possible to find these efforts that show the efforts of educators in this issue.

Özet

IJEP’in yeni bir sayısı ile sizinle buluşmaktan dolayı mutluyum. Bu sayının gerçekleştirilmesine katkı sunan birçok meslektaşıma ve öğrencime teşekkür borçluyum. Onların katkıları olmasa bu sayı da diğerleri gibi sizlere ulaşamazdı.  Bildiğiniz gibi dergimizin yayın konuları çerçevesinde ve yaklaşımında eleştirel pedagoji ile uyumlu çok fazla başlık bulunmaktadır. Eleştirel Pedagoji ya da eleştirel eğitim alanı dünya çapında formal eğitim sistemlerinin kuruluşunda ve yakın zamana kadar eğitim politikası alanında eleştirel bir perspektifin baskın bir şekilde görünebilmesine yol açamamıştır. Aksine formal eğitim kurumlarında eleştirel eğitim alanının söylem ve kuramlarına yer verilmemesi ve dışlanması olağan karşılanmıştır. Ancak günümüze kadar süren karşılaşmalar ve mücadeleler, karşılaştığımız sorunların niteliği ve eleştirel eğitimcilerin büyük çabaları bu görünmezliği geride bırakmıştır. Dünyanın herhangi bir kasaba okulundaki bir öğretmenin ya da uluslararası yükseköğretim kalite sıralamalarında tepe noktalarda yer alan bir üniversitenin dersliğindeki bir profesörün dersini eleştirel eğitim perspektifi ile sürdürmeye çalıştığını görmeniz olasıdır. Bu eğitimcilerin, giderek daha çok görünür olma, daha çok dayanışma gösterme ve daha çok emek verme iradesine sahip olmaları da doğal bir durumdur. Eleştirel eğitimciler, birbirleriyle rekabet eden veya düşmanca davranan farklı kültürlerden milletlerden eğitimciler değil aksine birer dayanışma ve iyilik sembolüdürler ve içinde bulunduğumuz kısıtlayıcı kapitalist neoliberal çağda kendilerinin özgürleşme ve insanlaşma çabalarını sürdürmeleri dışında öğrencilerinin ve içinde oldukları toplumun iyiliği için eşitlik ve adalet mücadelesi veren birer bilinçli öznedirler. Dergimizin diğer sayılarında olduğu gibi bu sayımızdaki yazılarda da eğitimcilerin emeklerini gösteren bu çabaları bulmak mümkün olacaktır.
